City Clerk

The City Clerk serves as a link between Council and citizens as well as between the secretary and employees.

The office of Clerk for the City of Petersburg provides clerical, record keeping and administrative functions to the Council and the City Secretary. In addition, this individual performs many tasks that assist in guiding and managing the operation of local government policy and law. Below are a few of the responsibilities of the City of Petersburg Clerk

  • FOIA officer
  • Certifies minutes,resolutions & ordinances
  • Collects, organizes, and maintains City records
  • Coordinates the City budget
  • Oversees elections of Council Officers
  • Records and submits Council meeting minutes
  • Qualifies bids from and to companies doing business with the City
